INERATEC, a spin-off of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, offers modular chemical plants for power-to-X and gas-to-liquid applications and supplies sustainable fuels and products. With greenhouse gases such as CO2, hydrogen can be converted into e-kerosene, CO2 -neutral petrol, clean diesel or synthetic waxes, methanol or SNG. The advantage: a complete production plant fits into a container and enables a de-centralised approach. As a result, renewable electricity that previously could not be stored can now be stored directly on site in synthetic hydrocarbons.

The start-up applied for the award of the European Accelerator "DeepTech4Good" in 2018 and was given the chance to present itself to investors and industry representatives at a pitch event in Stuttgart. INERATEC thus won personal coaching services from Steinbeis 2i. The support in the scaling process and the targeted search for further funding resulted in an application to the Accelerator Programme of the European Innovation Council. With success: in December 2020, the start-up received funding of almost 2.5 million euros to launch scalable series production.

„"Through the coaching provided as part of the DeepTech4Good Awards 2018 and the ongoing support from Steinbeis 2i, we were able to successfully submit our proposal to the 'EIC Accelerator Pilot - SME Instrument' and received the desired funding."“

Philipp Engelkamp, Managing Director and Co-Founder of INERATEC
