Mann+Hummel GmbHEnvironmentally friendly mobility through emission reduction in transport
From the idea to a funded project
In spring 2022, Mann+Hummel GmbH, located in Stuttgart received 8.2 million euros funding from the EU for the AeroSolfd innovation project. Under the leadership of Mann+Hummel, 17 project partners have joined forces to deliver affordable, adaptable, and environmentally friendly retrofit solutions to reduce tailpipe and brake emissions and pollution in (semi-) closed environments. This will allow a quick transition towards cleaner mobility and a healthier environment. The aim is to enable a faster transition to cleaner mobility and healthier ambient air.
In 2021, the project coordinator Mann+Hummel approached Steinbeis Europa Zentrum with the AeroSolfd idea. The experts at Steinbeis then worked out - with the core consortium partners during several workshops - a general concept of the project and strongly supported the partners in writing the proposal. Through Steinbeis Europa Zentrum's large network and thanks to the Enterprise Europe Network, the consortium was able to find key partners with the right competencies along the whole value chain. The result was a success: from many submitted proposals, AeroSolfd was chosen by external experts contracted by the European Commission to be funded under the topic emission reduction in transport.
Steinbeis Europa Zentrum is also part of the consortium and supports the coordinator with management activities, especially the financial issues and assists the consortium by the development and implementation of a communication and exploitation strategy to be able to bring these innovative air cleaning products to the market.
„As a filtration expert, how can MANN+HUMMEL contribute to cleaner mobility, cleaner air and cleaner water in EU-funded projects? Steinbeis Europa Zentrum is a valuable partner for us: its holistic approach, its many years of experience and expertise allow us to make sound decisions. Steinbeis Europa Zentrum's extensive network opens up additional opportunities. We would like to thank the entire team for their commitment to developing excellent proposals and look forward to further cooperation!“Dr. Martin Lehmann, Mann+Hummel
