Arculus, a start-up in the field of modular manufacturing, made initial contact with Steinbeis Europa Zentrum at the Hightech Summit 2019 in Künzelsau and asked for more information about European research and innovation programs. In further support, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum conducted an innovation competence workshop as well as in-depth consulting on funding opportunities. In 2020, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum got the start-up involved as a partner in an application for an EU project with a focus on artificial intelligence.

The AI REGIO project supports SMEs from the manufacturing sector in integrating artificial intelligence into their production processes. The involvement of regional Digital Innovation Hubs enables application experiments and networking among SMEs. Arculus participates in the implementation of an application pilot in the area of robotics and predictive analytics. This allows Arculus to both expand its technology portfolio and establish contacts with leading European networks in the field of artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing.
