On 13 July 2022, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism awarded prizes to the AI Champions Baden-Württemberg 2022. The award ceremony took place for the third time and honours outstanding AI solutions "Made in BW". Nine award winners received their prizes from Minister Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut. Eight companies and one research institution were honoured for their AI solutions at the online award ceremony. They are working on outstanding AI solutions or have already brought innovative AI-based products, services or business models to the market. The aim of the competition was to showcase successful examples from Baden-Württemberg and thus make companies, start-ups and research institutions more visible.

Within the award ceremony Steinbeis Europa Zentrum was responsible for the overall organisation, the concept of the ceremony and the marketing. The award ceremony was streamed live from the Römerkastell in Stuttgart. In the run-up, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum produced short videos with all the winners, which were played at the event and used after the event for promotional purposes. The attending AI champions from 2020-2022 were able to network after the award ceremony.
