Towards Gender Equitable Education (STREAM IT)
The EU Horizon Europe project STREAM IT aims to initiate change in relation to persistent gender inequalities in STEM education, research and innovation in order to contribute to the implementation of the ‘European Manifesto for gender-inclusive ySTE(A)M Education and Careers’. The focus is on:
- Empowering underrepresented groups in STEM education
- Promoting gender-equitable career paths
- Supporting STEM education providers by sharing knowledge and building capacity to remove gender-specific barriers in STEM education
ST(R)E(A)M IT addresses the barriers and challenges faced by underrepresented groups in STEM education by developing innovative gender and diversity specific tools for youth education with a special focus on young girls and mobilising stakeholders from different sectors of STEM education and the R&I ecosystem to create sustainable networks for the continuous support of STEM education providers. ST(R)E(A)M IT aims to implement solutions that can be used by different stakeholders during and after the project duration.
As one of the project partners Steinbeis Europa Zentrum is responsible for the policy recommendations of the manifesto and supports the coordinator HETFA in the administration of the project.
