Empowering participation and accelerating synergies in Widening Countries with a focus on green & digital transition (Twin Synergies)
A substantial differentiation in terms of R&I performance among the EU member states is noticeable, reflected in unequal participation in framework programmes, disabling furthermore under-performing countries to improve their R&I systems. The TWIN SYNERGIES project aims therefore to bridge this gap by creating synergies at the operational and governance level, focusing directly on Human resources development, Internationalisation and increased participation of the Widening countries in the EU R&I Framework programmes.
Over a 24-month period and with the contribution of nine partners from four Widening countries and one additional EU member state, the project will apply compatible, tailor-made, but transferable activities for the following aspects:
- capacity building through workshops on proposal writing
- coaching in innovation management, business internationalisation, strategic communication
- HR development
- collaboration, valorisation, and technology uptake, focusing on the current developments related to the Green and Digital transition.
Furthermore, peer-to-peer learning sessions will focus on advanced digital technologies like AI, High-Performance Computing (HPC), and Data Analytics, particularly for environmental applications.
Collaboration will be furthermore strengthened through policy dialogues, cross-fertilization workshops, and meetings with policymakers and managing authorities, fostering synergies and cooperation. The project seeks to align innovation processes in Widening countries with EU priorities, boosting competitiveness, attracting investments, and driving sustainable growth. By improving policy alignment and governance, the TWIN SYNERGIES project supports large-scale initiatives and opens global collaboration opportunities, promoting sustainable economic development across Europe.
As an integral part of the consortium, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum leads:
- The acquiring of new transferable skills for strengthening competitiveness and innovation capacities
- Trainings on Proposal writing for EU funding programs with a focus on Horizon Europe and Coaching webinars with focus on development of the I&TT related skills
- The availability of the TWIN SYNERGIES Capacity building methodology, implementation model and assessment results to a wider stakeholder group
