Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-WürttembergGlobal Connect Conference 2024

The GlobalConnect Conference 2024 took place on November 20th, 2024 at Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart. The event was organised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg, the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Handwerk International Baden-Württemberg, Baden-Württemberg International, Enterprise Europe Network and Messe Stuttgart. Steinbeis Europa Zentrum was commissioned by the Ministry of Economics to realise the event. The theme of that year's conference in its eighth year, was “Globalization at stake? - Diversification under growing protectionism”.

The varied and wide-ranging programme consisted of lectures and panel discussions, including top-class speakers such as Minister President Winfried Kretschmann and Baden-Württemberg Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut.

A total of 470 participants had the opportunity to find out more about foreign trade. This accounts for around 40 percent of the country's GDP. During the discussion with Economics Minister Dr. Hoffmeister-Kraut, the topic “Can globalisation survive? What tasks do companies and politicians face?” was discussed.

Other significant and currently relevant topics were reflected, for example, in the Ukraine Economic Forum and the panel “Trade policy in geopolitically challenging times”.

Steinbeis Europa Zentrum event team was responsible for speaker and participant management, technical conception, implementation and support of all programme items, event organisation, stage branding and communication management.
