Call for proposals 2023 - Open

The Clean Hydrogen Partnership launches its hydrogen research call for proposals on 17 January. A total of € 195 million will be made available for projects in an unprecedented drive to support the creation of cutting-edge hydrogen technologies.


The Call addresses key priorities (identified by the Strategic Research Agenda) within different areas of research and innovation, with direct and quantified impact towards the achievement of the objectives of the Clean Hydrogen JU.

3 topics – 25.5M€ funding - Transport
4 topics – 19M€ funding - Heat and Power
3 topics – 7.5M€ funding - Cross-cutting
2 topics – 38M€ funding - Hydrogen Valleys
2 topics – 20M€ funding - Strategic Research challenge


The topics will be grouped into 11 Innovation Actions (IA), 13 Research and Innovation Actions (RIA) and 2 Coordination and Support Actions (CSA). Five of the Innovation Actions (IA) are considered of strategic importance and are selected as flagship projects, expected to have a significant impact in accelerating the transition to a hydrogen economy.

Synergies with other European partnerships and programmes, as well as with Member States and regional programmes are at the core of a number of topics.
